FACTS (FORENSIC ANALYSIS CONSULTANCY & TRAINING SERVICES) is the first and the oldest private organization in the city of Mumbai offering its services in the field of forensic science. It was established in 2009 with a vision to provide 360 degree forensic solutions to law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, educational institutions and corporate bodies.

We are a team of well trained and highly qualified individuals with over 50 years of collective experience in the areas of forensic analysis, consultancy and forensic training. FACTS maintains a reputation for confidentiality, honesty & professionalism that is an integral part of any criminal or civil investigation.

RIVA POCHA - Founder

Riva Pocha has a master’s degree in forensic science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, and a master’s degree in biochemistry from Wilson College, Mumbai University, India. She is a consultant and a forensic educator with over 22 years of training experience in the field. She specializes in consultancy pertaining to crime scene investigation, DNA forensics and forensic toxicology (including alcohol-related incidents).

RIVA POCHA

Riva Pocha is a graduate in Forensic Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York, with over 16 years of training experience in the field. She is passionate about forensics and strives to push forensic training and consultancy in India to international levels of quality. Her vision for FACTS is to provide the country with accessible quality forensics in the private domain. She has set up Certificate and Diploma Programs in Forensic Science at colleges in Mumbai. She conducts guest lectures and forensic workshops at professional & educator forums like TEDx. She is an Associate member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. She has recently been appointed Jt. Secretary to IFTA – Indian Forensic Teachers Association. She specializes in consultancy pertaining to forensic toxicology crimes (including alcohol-related incidents).

SEJAL GUPTA

Sejal Gupta holds a Masters in Forensic Science from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland and has recently graduated with a LLB from the Government Law College, Mumbai. Sejal brings to FACTS over 5 years of training and consultancy experience. She is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Science, USA and the Chartered Society of Forensic Science, UK. Her specializations in which she offers consultancy are forensic serology and cases related to DNA.

Alethea Vaz

Alethea Vaz graduated with a Masters in Forensic Science followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Western Australia, Perth. She has worked as a Safety Officer for the oil and gas company, AMEC in Australia. Alethea has been a part of the industry for over 12 years and brings a unique expertise to the firm in accident forensics. She previously worked as the Curriculum Designer and Developer at the GEMS Group of Schools in Dubai. She has developed training programs both in the corporate sector and several academic institutions in Mumbai. She is currently the Facilitator of Forensic Science Programs at St. Xavier’s College - Mumbai. Her expertise in consultancy lies in the area of forensic anthropology, microbial forensics and voice analysis.

HAVOVI HYDERABADWALLA

Havovi Hyderabadwalla completed her Masters in Forensic Psychology Studies from the University of York, UK. She also holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University, Mumbai. She has received training through her associations with rehabilitative work with patients in hospitals and prisons over the past 10 years..

She teaches Forensic Psychology and conducts employee development programs for Human Resource departments in the corporate sector.

ADV. NEENA GEORGE

Adv. Neena George has completed her BLS. LLB from Mumbai University and has also secured Gold medal in LLM(Criminal Law) from NMIMS's Kirit P. Mehta College of Law.She brings the perspective of the young to the team as she is passionate about bridging the gap between forensic science and legal practice. Having completed her Diploma in Forensic Science and Criminal Law from St. Xaviers College(Autonomous) Mumbai and is currently pursuing M.A. in Criminal Law and Forensic Science from NALSAR, she understands the importance of forensic science in legal practice and hence endeavours to enlighten the young legal minds with this knowledge.

Prarthana Vaidya

Prarthana Vaidya is a lawyer & criminologist with a specialisation in forensic psychology and operational process efficiency. She is pursuing her PhD in Criminal Justice from University of Cincinnati, USA and has completed her Masters in Criminology with Forensic Psychology from the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, and her law degree from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.With 8 years of work experience in the legal and criminal justice fields, Prarthana brings on board experience from diverse fields spanning her career in corporate law in the BFSI sector, applications of Lean Six Sigma principles in the legal industry, criminological research and grant projects and forensic psychology specialisation. She is passionate about enhancing efficiency and accuracy of criminal justice processes from a systemic perspective.Her motivation as part of FACTS is to provide consultancy and advisory pertaining to training programs, capacity building solutions, forensic enterprise R&D, operational processes advisory and documentation. Prarthana's vision is to bring the Indian criminal justice and forensic systems to international levels of sophistication and quality.

ALOKI DOSHI

Aloki Doshi (Forensic educator) graduated with a Masters in Clinical Research from Manipal University, simultaneously earning a Diploma in Forensic Science from St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Mumbai. With over 10 years of teaching experience in forensic evidence handling protocols and the application of scientific research skills to analytical techniques, Aloki's strength lies in training young scientists in specialized protocols for forensic examination of evidence. Coupled with her interest in pedagogy and the education space, Aloki has been associated with training programs in senior colleges and law colleges in the city of Mumbai.

Titiksha Desai Kamble is a practicing Questioned Documents & Forensic Expert, with experience of 14 years in the field and has provided her services to various organizations in the government and corporate sectors.

PROFESSOR KISHU L. DASWANI

Professor Kishu Daswani has been teaching law at the Government Law College, Mumbai for over 25 years. He is the Faculty Advisor of The Law Review, GLC. He is the founder member of the Securities Law course at the College. Over the years he has taught several subjects including Arbitration, Company Law, Taxation, Hindu Law, Industrial laws, Transfer of Property, Environmental laws and particularly specializes in Contract law and Criminal laws.

He is a teacher at the Public Policy, Human Rights and Business Law programs at the St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. He also lectures at the NLSIU, Bangalore. He also teaches International and Humanitarian Law at the Rotary Peace Centre at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.

He is a Member of LAW COMMITTEE of the Indian Merchants Chamber and also a member of the Academic Council of St. Xavier´s College He has been invited on several panels to speak on International Relations and Human Rights and is also a Resource person for the Harvard College in Asia Program.

ADV. ASHISH CHAVAN

Advocate Ashish S. Chavan has been practicing on the criminal law side since 1999, and regularly appears before the Bombay High Court, Sessions Court and various Metropolitan Magistrate Courts in the city of Mumbai. Advocate Chavan has successfully represented several corporate clients like Bennett Coleman and Co, Broadcast Audience Research Council ( BARC) and Vodafone etc, leading doctors in medico-legal negligence cases, and as defence counsel in the sensational Adnan Patrawala murder case (2012), Chitralekha magazine in the Tuff shoes obscenity case (2009) and the actress Yukta Mookhey during criminal proceedings in the Bombay High Court (2013). Advocate Chavan has also appeared in a PIL with respect to the functioning of the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission and a Writ petition that shed light on medical negligence by hospital managements and led to the framing of guidelines for the security of newborn babies.

Titiksha is a practicing Questioned Documents & Forensic Expert, with experience of 12 years in the field. She is also a Visiting Faculty at the Institute of Forensic Science, Mumbai. She has a Master’s degree in Forensic Science from University of Teesside, UK. Her areas of expertise include Questioned Documents Examination, Fingerprint Examination and Crime Scene Examination. She has handled more than 300 cases including important high-profile cases related to Questioned document examination, Handwriting, signature verification and fingerprint services, Fire Scene & Crime Scene Investigation cases for both the Government as well as private sector.

Titiksha is a seasoned trainer in her field. She has conducted many workshops, seminars for young students, various judicial institutions, the corporate sector, BAR Councils, insurance companies and the High Court as well. The Police and Judicial Academy within Mumbai and Pune and the Crime Branch, EOW, Mumbai, have also benefited from her training expertise. DR. AMARNATH MISHRA

Dr. Amarnath Mishra, is a Senior Faculty of Forensic Science at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India since August 2015, and has 13+ years of experience in Academics, Research and Administration. Dr. Mishra was awarded with Ph.D. degree in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic and Analytical Toxicology from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj (Formerly SHIATS, Allahabad) in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh. He is a Freelance Forensic Expert and Medico-legal Consultant. He contributes his knowledge and experience in TV and Radio programs as a Forensic Expert.

Dr. Mishra has published 5 books, 20 book chapters, and more than 35 research articles in reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals, associated with forensic toxicology. He has presented 25 papers in national and international conferences and has delivered more than 17 invited talks at various national and international events.

Dr. Mishra is a Technical Assessor for NABL, India. Dr. Mishra serves as Regional Coordinator of Worldwide Association of Women Forensic Experts Italy. His professional affiliations include Associate Member of American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Member of Royal Society of Chemistry London, Life Member of Asia Pacific Association of Medical Toxicology, Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Society of Criminology, Society of Biological Chemists of India, etc.

Sachin Dedhia

Sachin Dedhia is an independent Cyber Crime Investigator & also a Certified Ethical Hacker (EC-Council, USA). He is also a certified International trainer in the field of Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Cyber Crime Investigations & Digital forensics. For many years he has been working as an Independent Cyber Crime Investigator and also as a IT security expert for various MNC’s, SME’s, Govt depts., Corporate & individuals. He has also provided training to Mumbai, various other State Police Departments.
